My Story

The foundation for my life-long love of creating interior living spaces was built while I studied Art History at Middlebury College in Vermont. Over the next few years, living in Boston, I developed a deeper appreciation for the creative process, while working for such design institutions as F. Schumacher & Company, Stark Carpet, and Roche-Bobois. In 1981, I opened Details Interiors, Inc. in a brownstone in Boston’s South End.

Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with clients on projects throughout the Boston area, mountaintop get-aways in the Berkshires, Park Avenue apartments, and California dream homes.  Now located on Cape Cod, a part of the world that means a great deal to me — I can’t think of a more peaceful and beautiful environment in which to work.

We all deserve, and ought to have, a true home to which we can retreat at the end of the day,  a “safe haven” if you will — a place that envelops us, and comforts us. That can mean many different things to different people. It is, therefore, my intention to discern from my clients the elements in their mind’s eye that comprise that comforting and very personal space…and then to work with them in a collaborative spirit, to create that very space.

I have clients with whom I have worked for many years…moving from home to home as their lives evolve and change. For some I’ve designed large vacation homes or luxury apartments, and for others simple woodland cabins or beachfront cottages. What matters greatly to me is that my clients are not only happy with the end result of our work together…but that they also very much enjoy the process. I’m with them every step of the way, bringing unwavering professionalism, attention to detail, and an oft-appreciated sense of humor!
